Remarkably, 62 of the 97 passengers aboard the Hindenburg survived when it exploded and crashed in 1937. The remains of the airship on the ground comprise a monumental still-life composition the scale of which you can compare to the tiny figure of a man on the ground to the left. A historical disaster that marked the abrupt end of the airship era.
