The 1998 ice storm in Eastern Canada was the author of limitless destruction. The huge power transformers were the victims of accumulating ice and wind. Power lines snapped and transformers exploded, producing a shower of sparks and a flash of light that could be seen for miles. What remained was a grotesque version of the towers that was profound evidence of the power of nature.
